13th Colony Now In NJ

13th Colony Distilleries will expand distribution into New Jersey, continuing its national growth as demand increases for its small-batch bourbons and whiskeys. In New Jersey, Opici Family Distributing will introduce 13th Colony’s portfolio to retailers and consumers across the state, supporting both core products and limited releases.

Craft distillery 13th Colony, founded in 2009, has grown in distribution to 19 states, including the Mid-Atlantic’s Maryland, Delaware plus the District of Columbia, for which Opici is the distribution partner. 

In South Georgia, year-round warmth and daily temperature swings play a key role in developing the character of 13th Colony’s bourbons and whiskeys. The distillery’s master distiller tastes every barrel, carefully choosing and blending them to ensure each release delivers the intended balance and depth.

What will be available in New Jersey?

Retailers will carry 13th Colony’s core aged spirits and select specialty releases.  Everyday aged spirits include Southern Bourbon Whiskey, bottled at 95 proof with a smooth, balanced flavor and slightly sweet finish; 113 Bourbon Finished With Maple Wood Spirals, in which maple wood spirals are added during aging to complement the bourbon’s natural character; and Southern Rye Whiskey, known for its balance of sweet and spice and its toasted French oak spiral finish. The distillery’s annual limited-edition 2026 Cask Strength Southern Bourbon also will be available in New Jersey. An uncut version of the flagship Southern Bourbon, Cask Strength Southern Bourbon is aged 5-6 years and delivers a 120.82 proof. 

13th Colony has earned numerous industry honors for its aged spirits, including SIP Awards Double Gold, Wine Enthusiast Best Bourbon Under $50, Ascot Awards Double Platinum and Beverage Tasting Institute scores in the 90s.
