Distillery Debuts First-Ever Doubled Oaked Bourbon Single Barrel

13th Colony Distilleries is launching its first-ever single barrel of its famed Double Oaked Bourbon, and 90 whiskey enthusiasts won the chance to buy a bottle directly from the distillery in Americus, Ga.

A completely unique expression, this single barrel of the distillery’s Double Oaked Bourbon Whiskey is cask strength at 141 proof of explosive flavor. Aged 11 years and seven months, this bourbon has a nose of Swiss meringue, warm brownies, fresh doughnuts, maple syrup, toasted walnuts, brown butter, oatmeal stout, sweet mesquite smoke, pipe tobacco, sweet sesame sticks and red cherry licorice. The taste immediately warms the palate, followed by graham cracker crust, chocolate Reisen, blackberry compote, toasted walnuts and cannoli. The finish is loaded with warm spices, fresh funnel cake, smoked vanilla sugar and maple syrup. 

13th Colony offered 90 bottles of this 141-proof bourbon through a lottery sweepstakes, randomly selecting 90 winners who were notified via email April 17, 2025. Sweepstakes winners must visit the distillery to purchase their bottle between April 18, 2025 and July 11, 2025, during distillery hours. Bottles from the Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon retail at $249.99.

“Our Double Oaked Bourbon is what truly introduced 13th Colony to the bourbon community and exemplified the flavors coming out of our South Georgia distillery. We chose this barrel from our original Double Oaked Batch #1 and kept it specifically to age for a few more years,” said Maxwell Darby, president of 13th Colony Distilleries. This marks the first time it’s offering a single barrel of the highly acclaimed 13th Colony Double Oaked Bourbon.
