New Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon

13th Colony is giving fans another chance to enjoy its Double Oaked Bourbon with the second-ever release of a Single Barrel expression of the bourbon that helped define the distillery’s reputation. Aged 11 years and bottled at 141.6 proof, the 2026 Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon whiskey is a limited release that will be available exclusively to 150 lottery winners.

“We selected one of our oldest Double Oaked bourbon barrels for a special Single Barrel release, and its full flavor profile proves once again that our South Georgia climate and philosophy about aging whiskey combine to produce an exceptional pour,” said Maxwell Darby, president of 13th Colony.

13th Colony Double Oaked Bourbon put the 17-year-old craft distillery on the whiskey community’s map a few years ago by showing the bold flavors of well-aged bourbon coming out of South Georgia. 13th Colony has released three highly acclaimed small batches of Double Oaked Bourbon and, last year, unveiled its first-ever Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon release.

“We age bourbon to taste, not just time,” said Darby. “Our master distiller samples every barrel to decide if it’s ready for bottling, and we found something extraordinary in this single barrel of our Double Oaked Bourbon.”

How can bourbon enthusiasts get a bottle of this Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon?

13th Colony offered 150 bottles of the limited release through a lottery sweepstakes, randomly selecting winners May 13, 2026. Sweepstakes winners must visit the distillery to purchase their bottle before September 5, 2026. Bottles from the Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon retail at $249.99.

What is the flavor profile for 13th Colony’s 2026 Double Oaked Single Barrel bourbon?

The 2026 Double Oaked Single Barrel has a nose that leads with warm figs and dark syrup with layers of toasted marshmallow and a touch of sweet mesquite smoke. Hints of meringue and coconut cream add a soft, confectionery lift. The palate is rich and indulgent with dark chocolate cake batter and nougat up front. Roasted fruit syrup and brown butter bring depth, balanced by toasted walnuts. The finish is long and composed, with less heat than expected for a 141 proof. Notes of warm honey, toffee and a touch of cheery linger with a refined sweetness.

“We like to push the limits on flavor, and this barrel delivers,” Darby said. “This year’s Double Oaked Single Barrel leans more into dark fruit and confectionery richness than last year, with a softer, more seamless finish. It’s a pour we know fans are going to enjoy.”
