Mystery Bottle Event Set For Nov. 8

13th Colony Distilleries invites whiskey lovers to join the inaugural Unlock the Vault: A 13th Colony Mystery Bottle Event on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the distillery in Americus, Georgia. At the event, 13th Colony will make more than 75 specialty cask-strength bottles available for purchase, giving attendees a chance to take home a whiskey from a mix of limited releases, rare single barrels, and hard-to-find allocated favorites. 

“Our inaugural Unlock the Vault event is our way of sharing bottles from our unique store and distillery single barrels, plus a few really special and rare releases, with the people who make this community what it is,” said Maxwell Darby, president of 13th Colony Distilleries. “Every attendee at our mystery bottle event gets a ticket, so there’s no line and no hassle – just some great pours and a fun day with 13th Colony friends and family.”

The chance to purchase a bottle will be awarded through a lottery beginning at 2 p.m., and tickets for the lottery will be presented to attendees starting at 11 a.m. Each guest receives one complimentary ticket, with the option to purchase up to two additional tickets for $10 each (limit three total tickets per person). Each bottle revealed will be available at MSRP, giving fans a chance to purchase these exceptional whiskeys at their original value.

When Are The Bottles Revealed?

Mystery bottles will be hidden beneath numbered paper bags. When an attendee’s number is called, they’ll select a bag, reveal the bottle beneath it, and choose whether to purchase it. Passed bottles will remain available to subsequent winners until all bottles are sold or tickets are drawn.

Every bottle in the vault is cask strength and from the distillery’s single barrels, unique finishes and award-winning specialty release bourbon from recent years. 

Distillery Activities Round Out The Day

In addition to the mystery bottle lottery, guests can enjoy a full day at the distillery, including:

• Presidents Tour of the distillery
• Meet & Greet and bottle signing with the 13th Colony team
• Food and bar service throughout the day

Where Did The Bottles Come From? 

Bottles in the Unlock the Vault event are from a variety of product launches from 2025 and years prior. When retailers purchase 13th Colony store single barrels, they buy by the case, and there are often one or two extra bottles from each barrel. The same happens with 13th Colony limited releases distributed by the case. Over time, these “leftovers” add up to a one-of-a-kind assortment of small-batch, cask strength whiskey that’s too good not to share.
