“Worth Drinking Slow” Wins ADDY AWARD

At 13th Colony, the belief that the best things in life take time is more than a philosophy — it’s how the distillery approaches both whiskey and the moments meant to be shared around it. Whiskey takes time to age. Friendships take time to grow. And the moments worth remembering are the ones you don’t rush.

That philosophy sits at the heart of the distillery’s “Worth Drinking Slow” campaign, which recently earned advertising industry recognition with a Silver ADDY Award.

Each year, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and its chapters host the ADDY Awards, one of the advertising industry’s largest competitions recognizing creative excellence. At the Charlotte AAF Awards Gala, the five-video Worth Drinking Slow campaign received a Silver ADDY Award in the Film, Video & Sound category.

“We’re proud to see the Worth Drinking Slow campaign recognized with a Silver ADDY Award,” said Max Darby, president of 13th Colony Distilleries. “It reflects what we believe about whiskey and about life — that the best things take time. We’re grateful for the honor and will continue investing in the brand and supporting the whiskey community that has helped us grow.”

A Campaign Built on the 13th Colony Philosophy

The Worth Drinking Slow campaign was created to capture what makes 13th Colony different.

The distillery’s whiskey is shaped by the climate of South Georgia, where warm days and cool nights help develop the character of every barrel. But just as important is the mindset behind the brand: life’s best experiences shouldn’t be rushed.

The video series reflects the moments where great whiskey belongs and notes, “Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing.”

Supporting the Brand — and the Community Around It

While the campaign celebrates the spirit of slowing down and enjoying the moment, it also reflects 13th Colony’s ongoing commitment to supporting the brand and the community that surrounds it.

From the distillery team in Americus to the distributors, retail partners and whiskey enthusiasts who share the bottles with friends, the campaign was built to strengthen the connection between the brand and the people who make it part of their lives.

As 13th Colony continues to grow into new markets across the country, investments like the Worth Drinking Slow campaign help bring the story of the distillery’s whiskey and its philosophy to more people.

The campaign was developed by Working Title Partners. The videos observe a world always in too much of a damn hurry and highlight the value of slowing down and getting a sense of perspective. Imagery from fire pits to rocking chairs, and lakeside seating to family gatherings celebrate the philosophy. In one spot, the message hits home with laidback humor when a turtle walks slowly across the screen with a glass of whiskey on its shell.

“We have a great partnership with 13th Colony with a lot of trust between our teams,” said Working Title Partners’ Aaron Putnum, who directed the spots. “We always ask, ‘What if you actually could?’ When the question this time was, ‘What if we bring a turtle into our creative,’ the answer from 13th Colony was a resounding yes – and it’s added to the campaign’s character in such an intentional way.”

Award Recognition Reflects the Brand

Awards are always appreciated, but for 13th Colony, the real reward is seeing new people connect with the brand and try their products.

The Worth Drinking Slow campaign was created to celebrate the idea that great whiskey is meant to be shared, savored and enjoyed with friends and family — whether that’s at the distillery in Americus, around a backyard fire pit, or during a quiet moment at the end of the day.
